I purchased this dress last month for my 9 year old daughter. She needed a colonial style costume for her role in a Felicity American Girl play. First of all, the shipping was incredibly fast. I received the package in 2 days when it was estimated 5-7. The dress was much higher quality than I expected. It has beautiful detailing and the fabric is a velvet texture. The dress is described as brown, however, it is more of a deep red or maroon color. My only complaint about this dress is that the sizing was way off! My daughter is of average build and is a child size 10-12. I ordered this dress in child large (10-12). It was more like a 14-16 plus size. It looked like a tent on her! Because it arrived a few days before her play, I chose not to exchange it. I ended up pinning the entire back of the dress and adding 2 tutus under the skirt, which gave her a perfect fit. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the dress was the night of the play, I decided to only take off...
Quality fine, but this costume is huge!
This costume would have been perfect, but it was huge. I saw the "runs large" comments and was ready to pin and tuck, but it was more an adult size 6 than a child's size. I had to order something else.
