Yes, the material is thin, but if you are going to Disney World and are going to be standing in the hot hot sun it is ideal. My 3 year old loves this dress and wears it pretty much all the time. It has been washed at least thirty times and still has held up extremely well. It is very pretty and she feels very special wearing it.Holds up over many washes!
My 5yr old received this dress for her 4th birthday, she will be 6 next month. I've washed in MANY times and it is still in great shape. Beautiful silk, but the waist was so tight that I had to rip out the stitches, insert four inches of additional elastic and resew it. Fits children from 3-8 years old? Really? My five-year-old daughter is of average height and weight, and this skirt was ridiculously small around the waist. Also, the workmanship is not fantastic. Sorry, but I wouldn't buy this again....My daughter LOVES this skirt - a great purchase!
I'm very surprised to read negative reviews because we have found this to be a beautiful and surprisingly durable skirt. My 3 year old has dragged it through the dirt while playing outside, spilled juice, etc. on it, and even wore it through potty training with a few accidents...none more worse for the wear. It's not machine washable, but I have just hand washed it with warm water. At first it is wrinkled, but once it is worn again or hangs awhile the wrinkles disappear and it's as good as new.
The colors are so pretty and the way the skirt flows and blows in the wind means my daughter chooses it more often than any of her other dress up clothes. I'm actually thinking of buying another in a different color, mainly so when she has a friend over they can both put one on!
My only complaint is that the waist is really big on her, and I bought the toddler size. It might be nice if there was some adjustability to the waist, or maybe they need more than two sizes of...Reversable Silk Skirt by Sarah's Silks

We just purchased this costume in a small (4-6X) for my small framed daughter for Halloween. It is a new costume and so there were not any reviews. Don't waste your money! The arm holes at the wrist are so small (about 1 1/2") that only an infant could fit their hands through! The material does not stretch so although a tiny wrist may fit in the hole, the hand will not. In order for my daughter to wear this costume that other wise fits perfectly, I have to cut off the sleeves about 6 inches. I will be sending this back for a refund.Surprisingly good costume for the low price.
My daughter wanted to be someone adventerous and this costume fit the bill perfectly. I have no idea what the person who said the arm holes were too small were talking about -- the arm holes are very large and billowy, I can't imagine this costume not fitting if a parent buys the appropriate size. We also bought Tamina's amulet and it's a nice addition. While the costume hasn't been put through the rigors of numerous Halloween parties and trick or treating excursions yet, I've been satisfied with the quality thus far.A good alternative costume from other Disney princesses
I bought this costume for my 9 year old daughter. She loved it. She wanted to be a princess, but refused to be Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, or Mulan. "Asian girls don't have blonde or red hair," she told me. Princess Tamina was perfect. She had black hair, and all we had to do was add boots that she already had. There are four pieces to the costume: dress, wings, magic wand, and headband. As another reviewer stated, the headband is too big -- it's made of a loop of wire that's far too wide and just slips right over my daughter's head -- but the rest of the costume is great. One thing I particularly like about it is that the bodice is made of a stretchy velvety material and fits nicely even on my skinny kid; most other costumes that I have looked at are cut too wide, and have no give to accommodate different-shaped kids. I believe that the stretch of this costume should accommodate regular-sized and chunky kids as well, but I haven't tried it out. The wings are really cool; they're made of a heavy duty wire with a lavender pantyhose-like material stretched over them, and so far they've put up with a decent amount of wear as my daughter wears them around the house, sits down, squashes them, etc. If she's bent them once or twice, they are easy to mold back into shape. We got this costume for our daughter when she was 3 years old. We were pleasantly surprised. It is well made. The wings and accessories (wand and headpiece) are fun too. She is now almost 5 years old and still plays with it. The waist streches well, so it fits different sizes. Wings needed new elastics (after a lot of abuse :-), but they are back in circulation. As a long-time fan of Marvel Comics' Lady Sif, I was so pleased to find this costume. My daughter knows about Lady Sif from the recent Thor movie. She absolutely loves this costume.
Do buy the sword as people will constantly ask, "Who are you supposed to be?".
We found this to be educational as it spurred interest in reading age-appropriate Norse myths and related Accelerated Reader (AR) books. We also learned about history.
A long-sleeved t-shirt was easily worn underneath for added warmth. I also added a burgundy and golden fleece cape that I made from instructions I found online. Fleece is easy to sew with a machine. My daughter actually has a pair of real boots, similar to the ones in the picture.
The costume durability is typical for costumes, but due to the design and fabric used (as opposed to the see-through stuff), it should last longer than usual. It does not appear to be able to withstand machine washing.Great costume

Like any other costume these days, this one is made from very thin material but it is cute. It only comes with the dress with the attached tail and the headband. This is a beautiful costume. I love it. But as some costumes tend to be, it's scratchy. We tried a long-sleeved shirt underneath, which was unattractive and still didn't prevent it from being scratchy for her. We had to turn the wings upside down to keep them from bugging her neck. It was great for one night because it was so cute, but I know she'll never voluntarily put it on again for dress up or for costume.
I may try cutting off the sheer long sleeve to see if that helps enough for her to wear it. (I didn't even realize it was long-sleeved in the picture--click to enlarge it and see). If so, I'll update this later.Beautiful

Let's Pretend Butterfly Fairy Costume ordered this in a 4t my youngest little girl. She likes to play dress up as princess, pirates and fairy's and the dresses at wal-mart, target, and some other box stores were expensive and cheap looking. When I cam across this on Amazon and the price was marked down to below what a Fairy Halloween costume would cost. Thought what the hey...right Wrong !!!!! she had problems getting in and out of it and the sleeves caught on her fingers and anything else she walked by. There is netting from the puff sleeve down to the wrist with ribbon around the top and bottom of the sleeve that get pulled and snag easily.( cant see it in the picture) Think holes not runs. She tried to play dress up 3 or 4 times with it and then just gave up. Looks cute would not buy or recommend to anyone

Beware! I ordered this costume for my daughter and she could not even wear it to school on Friday 26 Oct for costume day because the whole thing was falling apart. I have NEVER seen such abominable workmanship on any costume - even one that is sold at the dollar store. FIRST, the horns were not on a proper headband. They were on a thin elastic string that was rotten, breaking apart, and which had no elasticity left. I had to remove the string and sew the horns onto a cloth headband we had around the house. SECOND, the mesh bottom tore apart from the shinny top piece as I too the thing from it bag. THIRD, the belt was a faded pinkish color and did bot even match the red of the costume. NEXT, the pitchfork was in two pieces: the stick and the fork-piece. I managed to put ti together with hot glue -- but then the string of sequence of the fork-piece started tearing away. FINAKKY, the glitter on the horns falls off even with a slight touch - to the point that little sequence...flimsy accessory

My son was asked to be the RingBEAR in a wedding. I'm sad to see how there is only an XS available. My 5 year old son is very tall for his age and we had no option but to buy it. It was about two inches short on him. Other than that it was ADORABLE! The quality of this outfit is amazing. VERY soft and fuzzy and warm. It isn't thin like most costumes. We bought this for my 4 year old and it fit perfectly, and she LOVED it! Everywhere we looked there were all these boy police costumes, or sexy adult costumes... but when we found this it was perfect for a little girl and all the other kids keep telling her she has the coolest costume! big hit! shipping was speedy as well. my only complaint was that i had to sew two buttons back on within 10 minutes of her putting it on, so i suggest just going ahead and reinforcing the stitching around all buttons before she wears it. not too tight or slinky- perfect for lil girls!Adorable costume with just enough "sass"
My step-daughter was very adamant about being a police office for Halloween. However, when we looked around in local stores there we no police costumes for girls, only boys. We did find one girl costume at a Halloween store which I did not allow her to buy due to it being too risque - very unsuitable for an 8 year old.
This costume was perfect! My step-daughter is tall and lanky so I was worried it would be too short but the dress fit her great. It was loose and the skirt was a couple of inches above her knees. The fabric was very cute and shimmery but thin.
Everything about this costume is great right down to the accessories.Perfect!

At ~$30 I knew that this costume was not going to be super great but I was still suprised at what we received. One piece was missing and the top was clearly stretched out from its original shape so I bet it was a return that wasn't even inspected before being sold again. We were in a bind so we kept it and fortunately, due to Amazon's great customer service, we received a %50 refund. Good quality as dress up costumes go. Better than some I have seen in the stores. My son loves it and can't wait for Halloween.The sizing is correct as far as height goes, luckily my son is skinny if he had been a husky boy it may have been too tight but the belt is big and will have to be tied to make it fit his small waist. The mask seems durable but looks as if it will get uncomfortable before the Trick or Treating is done. Just a couple of minor issues but overall I am happy with this purchase.Great costume

Got this for my son last Halloween, it did not come at all like the picture shows, there was no gray/black around the chest area, and it was all poor quality, I could have purchased the same costume at Wal Mart for $20. It states dress up suit, but came in a Halloween costume type packaging that you see at the stores, I had purchased this because I thought it would be better quality than the ones in the stores, but it was the same, only cost more. Also, the belt was way too big for my son, I had to tie it in the back, wasn't able to velcro. Overall disappointed, and when I contacted the seller, they told me to return it for a refund.
