Once my daughter started enjoying dressing up I've tried a number of different companies and Little Adventures is the best quality so far. Ever seam is completely stitched without the end hanging off. The fabric has even been through the serger so it holds up to rough play and there is a lower chance for it to fray. After buying the Cinderella dress and saw the great quality (which even stands up through the washing machine) that I've also picked up Rapunzel, Snow White and Belle. My seven year old granddaughter has a fascination with the beautiful silk, colorful clothing of the Asia. I went to Chinatown to try to find a kimono but they were so expensive that I had to pass. When I found the geisha girl costume at Amazon, it was more than I hoped to find, at a price I could afford. The set included the kimono, slipthe wig in place so she discarded it. I had read so many positive blog reviews about the usefulness and durability these playsilks and was terribly letdown by the product I received. I ordered 3 playsilks in pink, turquoise and green. Upon opening the green silk already had some light runs through it and after just one fairly gentle playtime using these scarves for juggling and wrap-around dress-up clothes all 3 had runs in them. Very disappointing given the price and previously read reviews. In the future I will buy the Sarah's Silks discount seconds bag, look for other sellers on etsy or make scarves myself.Versatile fun
I purchased this silk as 'grass' for my baby's Easter basket.
1. The size is wonderful. Not too large, not too small.
2. It's silky soft and brightly colored.
3. We have used this as a bright area on the floor and the baby likes to just go sit on it. We cover our faces/heads and she has fun 'finding us'. We've used it as a cape already. It's fun to put things in it then have the baby try to get them out. There are so many things you can use it for and because it's so thin/light/soft it makes the perfect play fabric.
4. We plan to buy many more colors for her play room.Beautiful Green Playsilk
I've purchased, and my three kids play with, multiple playsilks from Sarah's Silks--including Lime Green. The playsilks are lighter than air and have a beautiful shimmer. They are large--big enough to make a cape, a table cloth, or be part of a tent. None of the playsilks have had runs, or had the stitching come undone, or had any problem. These really are wonderful. This is not what I expected. It has 1 layer of tulle on it and that is it, it is nothing like the picture. I purchased this to go under my daughters pagent dress because she needed more poof under her dress and bought this according to the pic and oh was I mistaken. It is great to play around with dress up princess dresses but I am going to have to add a couple more layers of tulle to make it even remotely useable. My 3 1/2 year old grandaughter thinks that her dress-up princess dresses should look like they do on the movies. Big and full. So I went surfing to find just the right thing to make her dress do the same thing. I found the crinoline slip in child size no less and wrapped it up with Belle's Princess dress. My grandaughter and I made a deal. If she wrapped up her silky blanket and gave it to Santa for Christmas (so she would stop sucking her thumb)then I would give her my gift on Christmas Eve. That was enough to persuade her to give Santa her blanket. The Belle Princess dress was a good start but the crinoline slip completed the look. The look on her face was priceless. We bought this princess dress for our daughter for her birthday princess tea party six months ago. She is still into the whole princess thing and has worn it at least several times a week since then. I have been able to wash it, and it still looks new (unlike her Disney princess dresses that look ratty and torn after just a few uses). This is a beautiful dress, very well made, with gorgeous details. We've had it since May and its holding up well. It fits my 4 year old very well - she's a little short and it is full length on her. My only issue with it is that the head hole is tight, so getting it over her head to put on and take off is a battle. She can't do it by herself.
We also have the age 3-6 set of 5 princess dresses by Little Adventures that are not the deluxe version like this - they are awesome for dress up and easier to get on and off. This one is a little more special because of the beautiful detail - it will be coming to Disney with us later in the year to be worn when my daughter meets Rapunzel.

Just as on a previous review, what I liked about this costume is that it's really like a dress - no velcros, nothing to snap together. My 4 year old loves it! She just wore it to a princess party that lasted for 4 hours and it did not fall apart whatsoever. The arms and legs were waaaay too long, but once we hemmed it up, it looked fine. The inflatable proton pack was huuuge on his back, but my son loved it. And the gun (even when blown up all the way) was kind of flimsy, we made it more sturdy by using a piece of cardboard so it would hold up better. Overall, my son absolutely loved this costume, and so did a lot of others at his costume party!! :)Love this costume

So it looked like crud right out of the gate. And the wig, itself, was so thin in spots you could clearly see the wig netting through the hair at the top. I bought this costume for my 11 year old 5th grader who is having colonial days later this month. She is 58" and 76 lbs so I was hoping the large wouldn't be too big since she's slim. I ordered the costume on Monday night and it arrived late Thursday! It's a one piece dress plus a bonnet and fits well, nearly touching the floor. The price was excellent and so was delivery. She'll be one of the best dressed colonial girls in class.Love it!
My 7 yr old daughter loved the costume, and already asked if she can wear it again next year! The quality was great for the price. The only problem I had was sizing. It came in 4-6 or 8-10 and my daughter wears a 6x. I purchased the larger size, but it had to be shortened a lot. I found it difficult to modify without compromising the appearance.High quality costume for the price
I agree with other reviews posted about this product in the following ways:
1) This costume seems high quality for the price. It does look like it could be washed in the washing machine, though I have not tried this yet.
2) The size is generous, and the skirt is quite long. I have a plus-size girl whom the large fits around nicely. I am going to hem up the skirt a few inches.
3) The back does gape open completely, except for a velcro closure at the top. Obviously, this costume is intended to be put on over a kid's regular clothes, such as for trick-or-treating on a chilly night. And, it would indeed work great for that. However, my child is wearing it to an all-day field trip at an old-fashioned, one-room school house in late May. So, I plan to just baste up the back with black thread and remove it when she takes off the dress at the end of the day. I think that will be easier than trying to sew in hooks or buttons.

I bought the scooby costume for my 6-year old son for Halloween. He is a huge Scooby/Shaggy fan and was excited about dressing as Shaggy. I bought a size that should have been quite large on him because I had heard that the costume ran a bit small. My son is big for his age (typically wears a size 7). So, I ordered a 10/12. When the costume came, I (as expected) had to shorten the pants, and the shirt was a bit big, but that was okay. The wig, however, was still way too small. I could not fit it onto my son's head. I ended up cutting the seams of the wig, allowing me to alter the size slightly. It then barely fit on his head, but did not stay on well at all. Also, the goatee that comes with the costume did not stay on and I ended up drawing on a goatee with makeup, which worked okay. I am giving 3 stars for this costume because the outfit itself seemed to be made well. But, the wig was really not usable.Shaggy

The back is open and only the top is closed with a small piece of velcro so there isn;t a lot of support for the wings when attached.I fixed this by sewing velcro along the length of the opening, seems to do the trick.Waste of money
This costume was really cute but a total waste of money. It fell apart the first time my daughter put it on. The tutu came came apart completely. First the black ribbing came off and then the yellow started pulling out by the threads. The more she walked the worse it got. It was horrible. I couldn't believe it. Most costumes kids can play in for a couple months after halloween this one went staight in the trash. I have three children and have gone through a lot of halloween costumes and I have never had one made as cheaply as this one. Do not buy this!! There are tons of bee costumes, buy another one. The criss-cross straps are a mixed bag - thye are nice in that they are stretchy and go on easily. On the other hand, the fabric around the chest is too big for my daughter (average 7 year old size) so that in the back, the straps pull the fabric together and it looks bunched up. But it's in the back, and can be hidden under the fuzzy stole (included). Would be even better if it included the costume jewelry shown in the picture.Just what my daugther wanted

These wings were for my 9 year old who had to be a bug in the school musical. The elastic straps were plenty big to fit her (unlike some wings that are meant for much younger kids). The wings are white nylon type material on a wire frame with iridescent glitter accents. The wings are worn using elastic straps over the shoulder similar to a backpack. The straps are very stretchy so that even an adult can wear them. I imagine the straps are a bit too loose for a small child, however the straps could be knotted before putting them on for a better fit. I bought these for a charity masquerade costume and loved them so much I bought a second pair and customized them with different paints, glitter, and flowers for a whimsical look. A very good price for basic, simple fairy wings for children and adults alike.Not worth it.
Wings were flimsy and wouldn't stay "up" on their own--kept drooping to one side on my four-year-old's back. This is partially because the straps are so large (might fit an 8- or 9-year-old) and also, the part that attaches the two wings together in back is very flimsy felt.

You should not use retail clothing sizes to pick your size. USE the manufacturer size chart either here or on anovos com Most likely you will have to alter it if you do not have the 'standard' bod want the ultra fitted tv look

Ordered this because my 6 year old grandaughter wanted to be Doc McStuffins for Halloween. She wears a 6x and this fits well, although it's pretty long. I would say it might fit up to an 8, but not a 10 unless the child was very slim. Pleasantly surprised at the quality. I expected a super cheap cotton that would be a mess of wrinkles after washing, but if taken right out of the dryer, doesn't need ironing. Not nearly as cute as it looked in the pictures, it's two pieces so the top rides up and the skirt slides down and you can see the top of it which is white, very cheaply made for the price!LOVE THIS COSTUME!!
This costume was a perfect fit for my 5 year old who is about 49lbs. She will have room to grow and be able to wear it again next year if she wants. She wore it at least 3 times for events and it held up perfectly. Great quality and everyone loved it!Pretty, but had to make some adjustments to make it perfect.
The fabric of the costume is very nice, the make is also of good quality, however I had to sew the dress (blue skirt) to the red underskirt because when my daughter lifted the arms the blue skit would go up and let the white part of the underskirt show, which made it look cheap. After sewing them, the costume was perfect all the time.
I also had to put more Velcro in the back to make it close perfect and as my daughter is extremely thin, I also had to reduce the waist.
After arrangements, my daughter loved this dress, it is the more pretty of all the Spider girl costumes that we could find. (We made an exhaustive research of Spider girl costumes available). I got this for my four year old daughters birthday. I wanted something that would hold up well that I could keep in the toy box in her room. These dresses are great. Their are no zippers or buttons, so my daughters are able to put them on or take them off without help. They are a little long though. My two year old wore hers to Disney and tore the front after stepping on it all day. It has since been repaired and the bottom front sewn up higher to prevent it from happening again.
