These wings were for my 9 year old who had to be a bug in the school musical. The elastic straps were plenty big to fit her (unlike some wings that are meant for much younger kids). They were a great deal for the price, and made it through being lugged to the elementary school for rehearsals and the play without tearing, ripping, or breaking.
Very pretty wings
The wings are white nylon type material on a wire frame with iridescent glitter accents. The wings are worn using elastic straps over the shoulder similar to a backpack. The straps are very stretchy so that even an adult can wear them. I imagine the straps are a bit too loose for a small child, however the straps could be knotted before putting them on for a better fit. I bought these for a charity masquerade costume and loved them so much I bought a second pair and customized them with different paints, glitter, and flowers for a whimsical look. A very good price for basic, simple fairy wings for children and adults alike.
Not worth it.
Wings were flimsy and wouldn't stay "up" on their own--kept drooping to one side on my four-year-old's back. This is partially because the straps are so large (might fit an 8- or 9-year-old) and also, the part that attaches the two wings together in back is very flimsy felt.
They're made of a pantyhose-type material that started to wear and tear along the top curves of the wings after one use. I was really disappointed with these--I feel like I could have gotten better wings at a dollar store.
