Purchased for my daughter's 5th birthday as a special dress-up prop for the Birthday Girl! She was very excited that she was made special as the guest of honor and that while she enjoying the party with her friends, she had an extra touch of "special" on her day.
I would say that this item is best suited for a child aged 7-10 as it is BIG. My daugther is an average sized 5 year old and this was very big on her. Also, the headband is a waste of money, really unattractive and not sure at all the purpose of the headband.
Would the description provided a better picture of the headband, I probably would have gone with a nicer robe for the same amount that I spent on this set OR would have bought the robe on it's own for less $$$.
A great match to the spa slippers in pink that all of the girls enjoyed. Just wish I would have had better pictures at the end of the day and would not have dealt with a RUDE seller (NOT Amazon). Ugh -- seller really discouraged me...> Click to See Editorial Reviews

I heard about this as "Shapelock" and for whatever reason, the company decided to rename it "Friendly Plastic"
It's Polycaprolactone, Wikipedia has a great entry on it.
The pellets melt in 150F-160F water. This is hot enough to scald you but not cause a serious burn. I was afraid this would mean that kids wouldn't be able to play with it but in fact they can - within a minute or two of coming out of the hot water bath this stuff cools down enough that it's just warm. However it still remains pliable enough for kids to have a lot of fun.
When it does finally cool completely it's hard. I was used to Fimo/Sculpey which is really very weak. This stuff is really strong. Strong enough that I have yet to break a part which was fully cooled. I'd say it's as structural as the plastic in most kid's toys and actually a bit tougher (resistant to cracking) I believe there must be some crystallization going on. I LOVE these little dresses. I'm so thankful they come in larger sizes too, unlike the "Disney" versions often sold at Target, Kmart, etc. ... These are actually ground length on my 4.5 year old who had outgrown the previous size (actually it was 2 sizes smaller than these, but it stretched and kept fitting her, it just got shorter and shorter). She wanted to look like the princesses in her storybooks who had gowns down to their ankles, and these 3 dresses fit the bill.
She wears a 5 at Gymboree, and 5/6 at Target in regular clothes, and I find these Large 5-7 are a bit big on her, but not too big to play in and enjoy. She's not tripping over them by any means, they just seem slightly loser on her upper body, but then again, I now know that these costumes really will stretch to fit her as she keeps on growing.

I bought this for my daughter who is obsessed with "Friendship is Magic". It lasted from the week before Halloween through mid-November, which is really good for a Halloween costume.
Just a few notes for potential buyers:
In the photo on Amazon, the girl is wearing the mask on the top of her head for a reason - there are no eyeholes.
Also the mask is very brittle, and the velcro that holds the tail isn't great - which is why I gave it 4/5 for durability.
And finally, this isn't "Friendship is Magic" rainbow dash - it is "classic". For that reason alone it is 20% less awesome, so I only gave it 4/5 total.Very cute and comfy!
My 4 year old loved this costume so much that she still wears it everyday. Very comfy and has held up through all the wear.Favorite Grandmother
