This is a cute costume but very flimsy - good for one trick or treating and really for a child older than a toddler. The sleeves are made of a thin net metal that frays easily - I spent more time sewing up the sleeves and the top of the bodice. The sizing is weird in places - too big in one place and too small in others (armholes, for example are way too thin and this causes the seams to fray at the armhole and chest). I thought my daughter would like the colors but she didn't on this one. Also, the sleeves frayed bad at the 'armband' in the upper arm and it was nearly impossible once frayed to sew it back together.

The wings themselves are pretty sturdy -- we've not had any issues with the netting tearing (yet), but the elastic straps are already starting to stretch a bit, which is surprising.
The metal frame is somewhat easily bent, but also easy to bend back into shape, so no big deal there.
Overall, I'm content with them. My girls loved them, and haven't noticed yet that the shoulder straps aren't as snug as they were when we first got them.Granddaughter LOVES Them!
The wings went on over the jammies as soon as my 19 month old granddaughter opened them Christmas morning! They wire around the outside is not flimsy. I don't know wire gauge, but it is strong enough that the wings did not become bent during long transport in a car or when my granddaughter sat on the couch or in a chair. I believe the wire will be strong enough to be bent back into shape if necessary without weakening the product. The fabric seems attached well and is not too thin. We did try to watch to make sure they didn't get ruined right away, but I figured they have to be able to hold up to young children's play and they were in great condition when I left several days later. I ordered a size 8-10 for my small 10 year old as she is typically a size 8 in pants and a size 10 in shirts. What I received would not fit any 8 year old I know. It looks sized for a five year old. Now my issue if whether I should order the large or the "tween" size because my daughter really wants this costume. What is the difference as they both say 12-14? I am also wondering if they are going to accept my return.
As for quality, I would agree that its a bit cheap, but I find most Halloween costumes to be cheap so I actually wasn't expecting much better.disappointed

ok so it arrived. the dress is not tea length. i bought a size 8-10 med. it sits above the knee. i bought this for a 40 lb 8 year old. the hat is much smaller and is not satin but rather foam. there is no way to attatch the hat to the hair. maybe a chinstrap or holes for bobby pins might help. also the choker does not have lace. it does have a collar that velcros closed. it barely fits around my daughters neck so the velcro rubs her skin. she refuses to wear it since the collar is "itchy". also the bodice design is not sewn down just tacked down on the edges. worth about half of what i paid.Poor quality , already damaged ! Very upset 6 year old!!!
I purchased this for my 6year old daughter. When it arrived and we took it out of the packet we noticed that it was already split down the back of the costume and there are little holes appearing aswell . Naturally my daughter is very upset, we live in Australia and ordered it especially and have no way of getting a replacement in time for Halloween. The dress is very durable, I've washed it countless times and it's held up through indoor and outdoor playing for over a year and still in perfect condition.

no matter what the size, this dress runs small. my daughter is almost 4 years old, about 43 inches tall & weighs ~35 pounds. she has this dress in 3T-4T (which is more like 2T), the size "small" which is size 4-6 (which fits her normal/slim frame perfectly but doesn't leave room for any significant clothes on under the dress / along waist chest area), and also this size "medium" which is size 8-10 (which fits her frame loosely and seems just a little bit too big, but will allow for layers of clothing underneath so she can wear it trick-or-treating in the chilly ohio halloween). the frilly part that peeks out of the bottom is pretty, but VERY scratchy, so something needs to be worn underneath. the sequins are nice, especially when out in sunlight there's an iridescent shimmer to them; but they do come off sometimes (but not too easily) and the sequins are like stickers. bought toto from a local party store, and red shoes from amazon primigi brand (very nice, but size runs very...IT DOESN'T GET CUTER THEN THIS

I bought this little red riding hood costume from Costume Craze going by the sizing chart they gave. When I got the costume, it was too small for my daughter. I contacted the company to exchange the item because they misinformed me about its actual size, and they refused to pay the shipping and handling to return the item. I will never buy from Costume Craze again!!!price is right
There are many things that are wrong than right with this costume. However, for what I paid ($11.30) for something that my daughter will only use a few hours, I am giving it 3 stars for "good enough".
1. My daughter wears size 10 clothes so I ordered this costume size L based on other reviews that it's too short. The blouse is big as expected but the skirt is mid-thigh high, meaning WAY SHORT!
2. Skirt is not flowing as pictured. Rather, it's clingy because it's polyester
3. Belt is felt-like. The string on the belt is white and printed (not real string)
4. Cape is super thin and a different color red than belt and skirt. It's way small compared to the large blouse and is choking when fastened (by 2 pieces of little black velcros)

I thought the fiber optics ran all throughout the skirt - it does not, in fact, there is only one small bunch of 'fibers' attached to the front right of the skirt. You have to find the button to turn on the lights (which is a small, dim red light that flashes), it blinks for a few seconds and then turns off.. so then you dig for the button again if you want it back on, but really what's the point, its nothing impressive. It is a cute dress, I do love the purple material & print on the skirt, but the lights were just kindof a let down for us. She wanted a witch costume, so she has one, just not the super cool twinkly one we thought it was. Here is what you need to know:
All merida costumes do come in two colors : dark green and turqoise blue, all of them.
REason being - the princess wears two costumes in the movie so ther you have it.
Now: within each color you can find basically two or three levels of quality.
Top quality will be your disney store costumes- they will be all over amazon or other places like eebay and they will be more expensive then all others.
How to tell them apart form others aside from the price? The dark green one has lots of more gold then the basic ones, it has lots of more embroidery on the torso and it has pleted...Received different dress but it was nice
We received the wrong dress- the emerald green Merida dress instead. Although, this light aqua dress is the one we ordered. However, once our four year old saw it, she wouldn't part with it, so we had to keep it! It was very pretty and fit well. When I received the item in question, it was definitely not what I ordered. There was no invoice in the box so trying to contact the seller was nearly impossible. The item was shipped in time for when I needed but was clearly not the item pictured. It is pictured with hat, shoe covers, pants, and shirt. The shoe covers and hat were included, but the other item was a vest with an open front and small jingle bells sewed onto the front (one of which was missing). I did call Amazon customer service and they were very helpful. Amazon offered to send me something else sold by them for the same price to be here by tomorrow night, but since I am able to make this costume work with a few other items I'll have to purchase, they were happy and I agreed to adjust my purchase price by 50%.
In the end, make sure buyer beware when ordering things from...mannequin clothes.
I got this for my store mannequins during Christmas season. Perfect!!! They fit him exactly right. Adn very cute indeed.cutie

Save your money. The quality is HORRIBLE on this costume. The "blood" looks increedibly fake (just screen printed) and only covers part of the front, so the sides and the back are completely plain. The dress fits like a tent - very unflattering, and is the fabric is so thin and cheap looking. You will not want to go in public wearing this. If you want to be "Carrie" for Halloween, buy an old prom dress at the thrift store and do it yourself.
