I ordered this costume for a party my daughter will be attending. I was worried that it would be too short for her (she's 4) but it's a modest above-the-knee length. It's polyester, and looks like it will be cool enough for the indoor summer party, but I wouldn't recommend it for Halloween unless you live in a warm climate. There are no snaps or zipper up the back, just a square of velcro, and then a long, open slit that goes to the middle of her back. It's not really a problem since it's summer and she's small, but I'd think twice if it were for an older child.
It's a really cute dress that I can envision her wearing even after the party. It would just be a cute thing to wear (once I address the back situation, put in a button perhaps or snaps). I can't imagine it would last for more than one season, but for the price, it's perfect and I'm happy with the purchase.
