It's your typical Halloween costume - it's thinner than you'd like the material to be if you live in the northern half of the country about October - but still, it's adorable, chic, and fun (and not trashy). My daughter rocked out in it, and it was easy to put warmer clothes underneath. If you have a really slim child you might want to go a size small - my daughter is very slim - we always need to get the adjustable waist bands - we ordered the "right size" and for her of course it was a bit large - nothing that a quick stitch or safety pin can't cure.
